ToggleBenoît Huet: An Exemplary Journey in Industry
Benoît Huet, aged 46, became the general director of the Étaples (Pas-de-Calais) and Abbeville (Somme) factories of Valeo on July 1. With 112,700 employees and 22 million euros in revenue in 2023, these two sites form the French hub for alternators of the equipment manufacturer.
The Étaples and Abbeville Sites
The Étaples factory produces one alternator out of three in Europe, employing 1,300 people. The Abbeville site complements the sub-assemblies put together in Étaples and employs 200 people. “We offer the full range of alternator-type products dedicated to electrification,” states Benoît Huet.
Benoît Huet’s Rise
Graduating in 2002 from the École supérieure des techniques aéronautiques et de construction automobile, Benoît Huet began his career at PSA Peugeot-Citroën, now Stellantis, before working at Hutchinson as a product project manager and then head of the Thermoplastic division.
A Passion for Factory Production
“I wanted to return to production. Human contact and daily operational challenges are at the heart of my job in the factory,” explains Benoît Huet, who then made an initial entry into Valeo in 2011 under the responsibility of Alberto Santos. This experience solidified his attachment to factory production activities.
Back to His Roots
After a first factory management position in Lillebonne and a stint at Copper Standard, Benoît Huet returned to Valeo in 2020 at the Sablé-sur-Sarthe site to tackle the challenges of electrification. “The sector is very demanding and complex,” he asserts, highlighting the shift from thermal and hybrid technologies to electric.
A Recognized Leadership
By taking the reins of the Étaples and Abbeville sites, Benoît Huet has a clear vision and in-depth skills to meet the rise of electric vehicles and the increasing demand. His leadership guarantees the success of these strategic sites for Valeo.
