In the ever-evolving world of technology, Robeauté makes a striking entrance with its revolutionary minirobot dedicated to brain care. An innovation that promises to push the boundaries of cognitive health and transform our approach to mental well-being. Discover how this unique tool could disrupt our understanding of the brain and open new perspectives for a more balanced life.
Following the death of his mother due to a brain tumor, robotic engineer Bertrand Duplat became aware of the lack of effective tools for treating brain pathologies. This realization gave rise, in 2017, to the start-up Robeauté, which is dedicated to designing a minirobot aimed at revolutionizing brain care.

ToggleA tiny and effective robot
The minirobot designed by Robeauté measures only one centimeter in length and 1.8 millimeters in diameter. This robot is capable of moving within the extracellular matrix of the brain by making curves, allowing for precise intervention in the affected areas.
Operation and innovative capabilities
A small opening is created in the brain to allow the robot’s insertion. Connected to the outside by a cable for power supply, it can:
- Deliver medications
- Collect information
- Read and stimulate brain activity using electrodes
- Record vital signs – temperature, pH, oxygenation, CO2 levels, intracranial pressure
- Search for substances and perform brain tissue sampling
Medical applications and ongoing research
The primary application targeted by this minirobot is the collection of brain samples. Robeauté, which currently employs 14 staff members, is currently conducting preclinical tests on animals. The start-up hopes to initiate the first clinical trials on human patients as early as 2026.
Comparison table
Minirobot Capability | Advantage for Brain Care |
Micro-movement in the brain | Precise access to affected areas |
Medication delivery | Targeted and effective treatment |
Information collection | Better understanding of pathologies |
Recorded vital signs | Real-time monitoring of brain conditions |
Brain tissue sampling | In-depth diagnosis and study |
With its surgical minirobot, Robeauté promises to transform the treatment of brain diseases by enabling more precise and less invasive interventions. The ongoing advancements suggest promising prospects for the future of neurosurgery.
